For a full list of accessories that come with your carrier, see “Rack Pack”.
You'll need a Hayman Reese style 50mm hitch (the ones with the square hole), preferably with an anti-wobble screw fitted. If you have the flat tongue and ball type, contact your local tow bar installation centre to see if you can convert your existing tow bar into the required type.
Special Note:
Some towbars are fitted at an angle which means that your Scooter Rack will point up in the air. Please check with your Towbar fitting Specialist to ensure they can provide you with a towbar hitch that sits horizontally as shown in the pictures below.
Also, if your car sits a little low when the Scooter Rack is loaded with your Scooter or Golf Buggy, you may be able to fit air shocks to improve the cars "posture". Again, please check with your Suspension Specialist.
Here is a list of cars that we know have the angled tow bar:
- Land Rover V8 Turbo
- 2005 Magna
- 1998 VP Commodore
- 2000 Toyota Avalon

If you've got a car that has the spare tyre on the back...like the Nissan above, then there's a small change to the Rack shaft that will allow you to use a Rack. If you're handy with a drill, it'll take about 15 minutes to make the change...
And YES, we'll give you detailed instructions on how to do it. or get your local mechanic to do it for you. Should cost you $50...tops!
The Australian Standards Light Kit
The light kit is available as a standard feature and is included in the purchase price. It includes, Brake lights, Parking Lights, Number plate holder and light, L/R Blinkers and are adjustable to operate when the rack is either up or down. The pictures below illustrate what the Light Kit looks like.
As the Light Kit comes fully assembled and ready to use, all you have to do is fix it to the Scooter Rack with the nuts & bolts supplied. The holes are predrilled (2 on each side of the Scooter Rack), to install each light unit. Then by using the cable ties supplied in the kit, simply run the wiring harness along the framework so it's nice and neat and out of the way.
All you need to do now, is to plug the Scooter Racks connector into your cars tow bar socket and you're ready to go.

Wheel Away Roller
In the box will be a wheel away roller. The holes are already predrilled and the screws are in place. You just need to fit the wheel to the Scooter Rack. It should only take you about 5 minutes. When it is done, you will be able to lift up the other end of the Scooter Rack and the wheel will contact the ground allowing you to wheel it away.
The Lockable Hitch Pin
Self explanatory. We've provided you with a hitch pin that goes through the tow bar hitch assembly on the car and the Scooter Rack shaft. Once its through, you'll be able to lock it into place so nobody can steal it. It comes with 2 keys so don't lose them as we don't have any spares.
